About this policy

This policy explains what personal information Able Inc collects when you use skill-able, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.

skill-able is used by organisations. Your organisation decides who gets an account and which skills they use. For the information your organisation puts into skill-able, your organisation is in charge and we process it on their behalf. For information we need to run our own business, such as billing contacts, we're in charge.

We follow South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). If you're in another country, local privacy laws may give you extra rights.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to run skill-able:

Account details: your name, work email, organisation and team, set up by your admins.
Sign-in information: when you log in, password resets and similar security events. We never see your password in plain text.
Activity logs: every action and change in skill-able, who made it and when. This is a core part of the service.
Your content: the skills your organisation uploads or creates, and their settings.
Technical information: IP address, browser type and basic usage data, so we can keep the service secure and working.
Billing details: the billing contact and invoice details for paid plans. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, and we don't store card numbers.

We don't knowingly collect sensitive personal information, such as health or religious information, and we ask you not to put any into skill-able.

How we use it

We use your information to:

run skill-able and deliver your skills to the AI tools you use
show your admins who did what, and when
keep accounts and the service secure
send you emails you need, such as account set-up links, security alerts and important changes
bill your organisation
fix problems and improve skill-able

We will never:

sell your personal information
use your skills or data to train AI models
use your data for advertising

We only share information when we need to:

Your organisation's admins can see your account details and activity logs.
Service providers help us run skill-able, for example with hosting, email and payments. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
Tools your organisation connects, such as a security monitoring system, receive the logs your admins choose to send.
Authorities, but only when the law requires it.

If Able Inc is ever sold or merged, your information may pass to the new owner. This policy will still apply to it.

Some providers may store information outside South Africa. When that happens, we make sure it's protected to the standard POPIA requires.

Keeping it safe

We protect your information with encryption at rest and during transit, access controls and careful monitoring. Only the people who need it to run skill-able can reach it. No system is completely secure, but if a breach affects your information, we'll tell your organisation and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your organisation uses skill-able. How long we keep activity logs may depend on your plan.

When your organisation's account closes, your admins have 30 days to export their data. After that, we delete it. We may keep billing records for longer when the law requires us to.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

tell you what personal information we hold about you
correct anything that's wrong
delete your information, where we're not required to keep it
stop using your information for a particular purpose

If your organisation manages your account, we may pass your request to them, since they decide what happens to it. We'll reply within 30 days.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, please talk to us first. You can also complain to South Africa's Information Regulator.

Cookies

skill-able only uses cookies that keep you signed in and keep the service secure. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as skill-able grows. For important changes, we'll email your admins at least 30 days before they take effect.
